March is all about groundbreaking social and cultural achievements women have made throughout the year through the month-long celebration of Women’s History Month.
Social media feeds everywhere today are overflowing with supportive posts, photos of badass women and quotes from fearless female trailblazers for International Women’s Day, which is coinciding with today’s Day Without a Woman strike.
Women in sports took to social media to share powerful messages of solidarity, hope and love for the annual commemorative day.
Tennis pro Serena Williams dedicated a Rudyard Kipling poem to her followers, while MMA fighter Ronda Rousey encouraged women to #resist by sharing a photo of a statue of a fearless little girl standing up to the famous Wall Street bull statue in New York. San Antonio Spurs assistant coach (and the first full-time female NBA assistant coach) Becky Hammon shared tips on how to lean in in a male-dominated field, and Simone Biles inspired her followers to be confident by wearing a shirt in her post that says, “Never underestimate the power of a woman.”

Celebrating women. Celebrating their strength, kindness, resiliency, boldness. You take the world to the greatest heights. You impact my life courageously, and help shape the road I continue to follow you on. This is a picture of my beautiful grandmother, a woman who by example consistently reminds me to keep following my ambitions, to keep striving to improve each and every day. #internationalwomensday
