WNBA Washington Mystics player Elena Delle Donne and fiancé Amanda Clifton will get married in June with the help of The Knot.

Each year the wedding magazine awards a deserving couple with the wedding of their dreams, all expenses paid. This is The Knot’s fifth Dream Wedding and first same-sex couple.

Donne, who was recently drafted to the Mystics from the Chicago Sky, according to the New York Times, and Clifton, director of Donne’s foundation, were set up by mutual friends four years ago. Three years in, both planned proposals involving their great dane Wrigely and black labrador retriever Rasta.

I obviously said yes!

The couple is planning for June nuptials with the help of wedding planner Jove Meyer. The theme? Giving back. Instead of gifts, guests are encouraged to make donations to the Elena Delle Donne Foundation supporting special needs individuals and people suffering from Lyme disease. The cause is personal. Donne herself was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2008, and her older sister was born deaf and blind.

It is also important to the Olympic gold medalist and her mate that their wedding is eco-friendly. They hope to have locally sourced food and floral arrangements, and plan on donating extras to those in need.

Check out the couple’s wedding planning process on The Knot April 17.
