LeBron James was a star well before he stepped foot on an NBA court. Fans, reporters, agents and business people have clamored for “King James'” attention for quite sometime, but Bron’s better half, Savannah James never had to do that. The King was after her.
“He met me!” Savannah said in an interview with her husband for Vogue. “I didn’t meet him!”
Pro athletes marrying their high school sweethearts and staying together is a feat, many have not achieved. The James family makes it look easy. They have been going strong since 2002, and 15 years later, they have three healthy children together: sons LeBron Jr. and Bryce, and daughter Zhuri.
The couple officially tied the knot, three years ago today, on September 13, 2014, following a nearly three year engagement.
“Me and Dwyane, our biggest takeaway about Savannah and LeBron is that they’re real. What you see is exactly what you get,” said Gabrielle Union to Hollywood Life.
With all of the credit and praise LeBron certainly deserves, it has been Savannah doing the dirty work and working behind the scenes of her husband’s personal life keeping him, his children, and everything and everyone around him in check.
In addition to being a wife and mother, Savannah is a business woman and community organizer as well. In 2010 Mrs. James partnered with American Signature to design a line of furniture geared towards kids that includes desks, beds, and dressers. She also ran a successful juicing business while the couple were in Miami.
LeBron has gone his entire career without a single scandal or controversy. The closest thing to scandal he had was his “The Decision” fiasco where he announced he was, “taking his talents to South Beach” to join the Miami Heat.
Since they’ve been married, the LeBron signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers 2014 after four seasons in Miami, including two NBA titles, and has been raising his three kids their ever since.
