Forward-thinking French fashion label KOCHE’ just launched a collaboration with European soccer team Paris-St. Germain and the result is a fresh take on athletic couture.
After working together during in September during Paris Fashion Week, the two high visibility brands decided to launch an entire line of dresses, tracksuits, jackets, and skirts. The result is a line devoid of rules, something truly innovative with out of the ordinary color and design attributes.
KOCHE’s is known for their brave style aesthetics — this is a company that seemingly exists to disrupt mainstream parameters of fashion acceptance. Whether it’s the cut of their pants, the colors of their coats or the shapes of their dresses, the brand constantly pushes. Their collections have a performative nature to them, somewhere in the middle between functionality and full-fledged avant-garde.
For Paris St.Germain working with KOCHE is a curious, yet exciting venture. As one of the most successful soccer franchises in the world, the assumption is that they would play it safe. This decade alone PSG has won four Ligue 1 titles on the strength of superstar talents including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Neymar.
PSG could have worked with a more mainstream fashion house, but they decided to step out and flex their creative muscles a bit. The collection is certainly bold and some pieces have a “ten years in the future” look, but that’s the point. Besides, there’s plenty of balance in the collection as well. Many of the pieces are right in sync with contemporary looks and with clothes for both men and women, will likely appeal to PSG fans and those with ambitious tastes.
