Under Armour’s latest campaign Unlike Any features Olympic runner Natasha Hastings, among other women, as an extraordinary athlete who sparks conversation and challenges conventions. The global sports brand explored the life of the “400 Diva,” featuring her winning style and gold-medal talent.
To be a world champion sprinter, Hastings must be in top mental and physical shape. The runner flexes her creative muscles on her YouTube channel, where she shares how she maintains her incredible speed. As for physical health, training on the track keeps Hastings strong, but cooking well in the kitchen keeps her fit.
With a daily schedule as nearly as fast-paced as her races, Hastings focuses on preparing foods that are both fast and filling. Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day, she shared her morning oatmeal recipe with espnW.com so that all aspiring athletes can fuel their bodies effectively.
Hasting prepares her morning meal the night before to safe time on early training days. She also prepares multiple servings at a time so that the batch lasts her a few breakfasts a week. This recipe makes four servings:
- 4 cups almond milk
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 4 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon powdered peanut butter
- Two pinches of cinnamon
- Vanilla extract to taste
- 1 teaspoon Sugar in the Raw
Hastings directs at-home chefs to bring the almond milk to a boil and add the steel oats, letting them simmer on low heat for one minute. After removing the mix from heat, add the rest of the ingredients and refrigerate overnight.
To eat, Hastings warms a serving of the oatmeal and adds walnuts and a banana.
