Here’s to hoping DeMarcus Cousins brings his style with him to New Orleans.

That’s right. The former Sacramento Kings forward/center was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced Monday.

News of this midseason trade came after NBA All-Star Weekend, in Cousins’ new home of NOLA. Kings forward Omri Casspi will also make the move.

Kings Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Valde Divac had this to say about the roster change:

“It was time for a change and I decided this was the best direction for the organization, said Divac. “Winning begins with culture and character matters. With the upcoming draft class set to be one of the strongest in a decade, this trade will allow us to build the depth needed for a talented and developing roster moving forward. We thank DeMarcus for his contributions and wish him all the best in New Orleans. The fans in Sacramento are the best in the world and we are all committed to building a team that will continue to make Sacramento proud.”

Kings announcer Grant Napear was more straightforward in his feelings. He took to twitter to express himself:

DeMarcus had this emotional response:

An emotional goodbye from Boogie to Sacramento 😕😢 (via @carmichaeldave)

DeMarcus has been silent on his personal Instagram and Twitter since the trade, but we hope he returns soon even if it is just to serve looks like this one from his October 2016 GQ shoot.
