Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch made his way to the small screen with a cameo on Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and (tbh) we’re not sure that we would want him as our prime witness.
Lynch’s character plays the unassuming and unaware witness of fugitives escaping from a prison van that crashed in the middle of the road. Despite the chaos surrounding him, all he saw was the enticing quesadilla he had just bought.
When he’s in the detectives’ hot set, Lynch quickly becomes an oversharer, resulting in pure hilarity. “Let’s just say I talk too much,” he says of his role during the episode’s teaser.
He plays himself in the role, and he’s a natural comedian among seasoned funnymen Andy Samberg and Terry Crews, who star as the show’s leads. Crews called him “a natural,” and Lynch jokingly mused that he might need another role on the show.
The appearance wasn’t Lynch’s first TV endeavor since retiring from the Seattle Seahawks last year. He appeared on “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” back in September before his dive into comedy.
