The weekend all sneaker heads (and basketball fans) have been waiting for is almost upon us. Hopefully your tax refund has hit your bank account because you’re not going to want to miss out on the heat. The biggest sneaker brand on the planet, Nike, is going head to head with adidas’ fire collection of new releases. All that means is more options for you! Proday is bringing you 5 of the hottest shoes that will be sure to leave a statement.
- KITH x Lebron XV
A part of the “Makers of the Game” capsule the “Long Live the King” Chapter 2’s is definitely a statement piece. Keeping up with Lebron’s royal persona, the sneaker, features luxe gold and rose detailing.
- UNDEFEATED X Kobe Protro
We all remember the greatness Kobe performed back in 06 when he debuted his first signature sneaker and dropped 81 points in a single game. His goal was to revamp that iconic shoe to include modern technology. The finished product is the Protro (performance retro)
So that’s just what they did. Nike’s basketball product director Tony Grosso cut out excess material to make the sneaker lighter and therefore heighten performance on the court. The innovative footwear comes in three colorways including a camo and all white design. They will be available on February 17 for $175.
- adidas Crazy BYW (Boost You Wear)
It’s hard to believe that these are adidas. It gives off a vibe of Jordan 13’s with a sleek futuristic twist but it’s all three stripes. Initially, adidas Originals dropped a limited selection of the Crazy BYW earlier this year. Now they’re releasing two new editions during the adidas 747 Warehouse event. The adidas Crazy BYW features the royal blue knit panels and is available for $170 on both February 16 and 17. The more exclusive Crazy BYW X includes suede uppers and a thick ankle cuff, retails for $200, and is only available on the 17th.
- Nike Kyrie 4 “ASW”
These sneakers are one of the three ballerific shoes of the All-Star Weekend Player Edition collection. The capsule is inspired by different LA communities and also includes designs from Kevin Durant and Paul George. Kyrie’s shoe features a trippy tie-dye print that captures the Venice city beach culture and community. It is said that the swoosh changes color and is heat-activated.
- Nike X RT AF-1 High
The latest collab from Italian fashion designer Riccardo Tisci and NikeLab brings a new aesthetic to the classic Air Force 1. Undoubtedly Tisci’s favorite Nike shoe, “It’s very clean and pure, but at the same time elaborate,” he continues with a new colorway for fictional team the Victorious Minotaurs.
“I believe the mix of sport, street and elegance is really good.” Said Tisci.
And so do we. The innovative shoes will be available on February 16.
